On Monday, August 11, 2003, at about 8:00 PM, there was a brief, severe thunderstorm that caused major damage to our neighborhood. Although the storm lasted only about ten minutes, the winds were estimated at about 100 mph. It was enough to knock down many of the trees. Electricity was out at our house for about 43 hours. Several neighbors had trees fall onto their houses and cars. We were relatively lucky and just lost a large, old, beautiful cedar tree on our front yard. Below are some pictures of the damage.
