I met Zack, Randy, Victor, and Neil when I first moved to Austin. We all lived in the same hallway in Prather Hall on the University campus. My first roommate didn't like me very well, so he switched with Zack who was Neil's roommate (I think). Zack and I were roommates all through college, and we shared several apartments until about 1976 when Zack kicked me out.
I bought my first camera in 1971, which is when these photos start. This was two years after we had graduated from college.
Victor and Joyce were married before these photos start. Randy and Debbie were married in 1971; some of the wedding photos are in this slide show. Unfortunately, both couples were divorced later. Billie Sue was Zack's girlfriend, but, as far as I know, they were never married. Victor's second wedding was in 1979; three photos from that wedding are in this slide show.
Randy had four brothers (I think), and some of their photos are in this slide show. David was the oldest, and we were roommates for several months, probably around 1970. I think Randy was the second oldest. Next came Phillip. I never knew the fourth brother, and the youngest was Mark. Mark and I used to play chess via mail, and some of his wedding photos are in this slide show.
Zack, Randy, Debbie, and I took at least four vacations together in my old Ford van. The photos from those vacations are on my "Colorado (1972-1976)" and "Big Bend (1973)" web pages. Randy and I went skiing in 1977 with Homer's brother
After 1977, we drifted apart. After Sarah and I were married, we had the gang over for dinner in 1981. I attended Mark's wedding (Randy's youngest brother) in 1989, and Victor and his daughter came to visit me in about 2008.
Look at the bottom of this page for a video that was shot in the mid 60's when we were in college.

This is a prank that my college buddies pulled on some freshmen (we were sophomores). For months, my buddies collected old newspapers from around the campus. On a holiday (probably Christmas), they wadded up the newspapers and completely filled the freshmen's room in our dormitory. Needless to say, the freshmen were surprised and never spoke to us again (although I don't think they would speak to us before this prank). The dorm maintenance man had to get a dump truck to haul off the newspaper. I don't remember if my buddies got into trouble or not. I was home in Dallas when this occurred and it was already cleaned up when I returned to campus.
This video is from an old 8mm film. The video is a bit shaky as a result of a faulty camera. The film was probably shot in late 1966.
