On Tuesday, December 26, 2017, Sarah and I flew to O'ahu for our first Hawaiian vacation. Joining us there were Henry, Sarah Ann, Sean, Heather, Abby, and Michael. Several days later, George and Goldie also joined us.

We rented an entire 6-bedroom house in the Kahumana Community.

Wednesday morning, we had a great breakfast at the Countryside Cafe. Then we went to visit Audrey at the Four Seasons hotel, which is where she works. That night, we went to the Paradise Cove Lu'au.

Thursday morning Sarah woke up with a bad cold. We were scheduled to climb Diamond Head, so Heather and I went on the climb while Sarah stayed in the car. When we got back, she was feeling terrible, so we went back to the house.

Friday, I woke up with the same cold. I was really sick for three days and didn't leave the house. I missed out on the trip to the big island, Pearl Harbor, and snorkling.

On Monday, I went with the group to Ka'ena Point Trail, but didn't do any hiking. That night, we went to the Kalapawai Cafe for dinner.

Tuesday, before our flight back, we went to Waimea Bay Beach Park where the surf was reallly rough.

Our flight back to Austin was on Tuesday evening.
